We are seeking a skilled Oracle Database Administrator to join our team in a key role that requires expertise in database administration, management, and optimization. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Oracle 12c/19c database administration principles, practices, and tools.

Job Description
  • Manage the installation, configuration, and upgrade of Oracle databases across various environments including Development, QA, UAT, and Production.

In addition to these core responsibilities, the successful applicant will be responsible for:

  1. Configuring RAC (Real Application Clusters), ASM (Automatic Storage Management), and clustering for high availability
  2. Managing Oracle listener, network services, and connectivity
  3. Monitoring database health and availability using OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager) and custom monitoring scripts
  4. Performing advanced SQL query tuning, indexing strategies, and optimizer statistics management
  5. Utilizing AWR, ASH, ADDM reports for performance diagnostics and tuning
  6. Optimizing schema design, partitioning strategies, and storage allocation

The successful applicant will also be responsible for designing and implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions using RMAN, Data Guard, and RAC. This will include configuring and managing standby databases (physical/logical) for DR readiness, validating backup integrity, and conducting regular DR drills. Furthermore, the DBA will guarantee RPO/RTO compliance and high availability SLAs.

This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of Oracle database security, data encryption, access control policies, and regulatory guidelines such as PCI-DSS, GDPR, SOX, RBI, and others. The DBA will be responsible for implementing data encryption, enforcing security standards, and managing database auditing, logging, and compliance reporting.

The ideal candidate will have experience with cloud-hosted Oracle DB solutions, DevOps practices, and tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, and Git. They will also develop shell scripts, PL/SQL scripts, and Ansible/Terraform playbooks to automate recurring DBA tasks and integrate database operations into CI/CD pipelines.

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in Oracle database administration are required for this role. Professional certifications such as OCP (Oracle Certified Professional) are highly desirable.
