Executive Laboratory Leader

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead large teams in quality control, including an analytical method validation team. Primary responsibilities include leading laboratory testing and method validation activities.

• Lead a team of 30+ members for regular testing and method validation activities.
• Provide back-up support to the head of quality control with daily updates, commercial output, and monthly sample status.
• Execute and approve different types of quality management systems (OOS, OOT, investigation) and identify scientific root causes with effective corrective action plans.
• Design and execute planning of analysis (routine work, method validation, and method transfer), data interpretation, and presenting findings to senior leadership.
• Be self-driven, make informed decisions, and provide guidance to team members for improving work quality and monitoring key performance indicators.
• Lead all types of quality control work in the absence of the head of quality control and participate in departmental improvement programs to enhance output and quality.
• Collaborate and coordinate with cross-functional teams like quality assurance, regulatory affairs, research and development, and project management to proceed with allocated tasks.
• Stay updated on industry developments and emerging trends to remain competitive in laboratory techniques.

• Masters or bachelors degree in science/pharmacy.
• Strong analytical knowledge and expertise in modern analytical instruments (HPLC, GC, LC-MS, NIR) with ability to interpret complex data.
• Prior experience in quality control, analytical method validation, and associated departments.
• Strong leadership skills with proven ability to motivate and develop team members.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and strategic mindset.
• Solid organisational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Familiarity with laboratory information management systems is advantageous.
• Good working experience in GMP and FDA audits.
• Able to achieve deliverable tasks with minimum support.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present findings clearly and effectively.
