Job Description

At Flipkart, we're looking for a highly skilled Mobile Architect to join our team. As a key member of our AppsCore team, you'll be responsible for driving technology and good practices in engineering in your respective team. You'll work closely with our UI team to create solutions that enhance agility and efficiency, ensuring our customers experience new features quickly and at scale.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and architecture discussions
  • Be responsible for scaling, performance, and quality for the team
  • Set up best practices to help the team achieve the above and constantly think about improving technology use
  • Experiment with new and relevant technologies and drive adoption while measuring impact
  • Implement long-term technology vision for the team
  • Responsible for the architecture of your product, ensuring it's aligned to requirements and charter
  • Active participant in technology forums and represent Flipkart in external forums
  • Create architectures and designs for new solutions around existing and new problem spaces at Flipkart
  • Drive technology and tool choices for the team and be responsible for them
Requirements
  • Quick and excellent problem-solving skills for complex large-scale problems
  • Good knowledge and in-depth understanding of one of the mobile (iOS, Android) and/or web platforms
  • Technical breadth - exposure to a wide variety of problem spaces and technologies
  • Very strong system design and OO skills with a nifty ability to craft clean interfaces and operate at the right levels of abstraction
  • High self-motivation - this is a must for platform team since architects are expected to come up with bottom-up ideas with the team and take them to completion with measurable impact with the help of EM counterparts
  • Solid coding skills with the ability to drive teams through massive refactoring exercises and improve coding standards across large code bases
  • Good understanding and experience of high-performance web-scale and real-time response systems
  • Exposure to complete product development cycles - from inception to production to scaling up, supporting new requirements, and re-architectures - the architects should have seen it all
  • Excellent mentoring skills - be the technical mentor to your team
  • Must be comfortable working in fuzzy environments - where boundaries aren't clearly defined
