Job Summary

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced collections professional to join our team as a Collections Specialist. This role will be responsible for monitoring and managing accounts receivable portfolios to ensure timely collections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and Manage Accounts Receivable Portfolios: Ensure timely collections by closely monitoring accounts receivable portfolios and taking proactive measures to prevent delinquencies.
  • Contact Customers: Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers through regular communication via email or phone to follow up on overdue invoices.
  • Investigate and Resolve Payment Discrepancies: Thoroughly investigate and resolve payment discrepancies and disputes in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with Internal Teams: Work closely with internal teams, including billing, cash application, and sales, to resolve issues impacting collections.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate and detailed records of collection activities and customer interactions.
  • Prepare Reports: Prepare ageing reports and provide regular updates to management on the status of collections.
  • Support Closing Activities: Support month-end and quarter-end closing activities related to AR, ensuring all necessary tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and SOX controls at all times.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting: A bachelor's degree in finance or accounting is required for this role.
  • 2-4 Years of Experience in OTC Collections: 2-4 years of experience in OTC collections or accounts receivable is essential for this position.
  • Strong Understanding of OTC Process and ERP Systems: A strong understanding of the OTC process and ERP systems, such as SAP or Oracle, is necessary for success in this role.
  • Excellent Communication and Negotiation Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills are required to effectively interact with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to Work Independently: The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities is essential for this role.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel: Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools is necessary for preparing ageing reports and maintaining accurate records.
