Job Description

The role of a Consultant Psychiatrist is to diagnose and treat mental health disorders.

  • Employ individual or group therapy to gain insight into a patient's past and find coping methods to help patients address their own problems.
  • Some cases may require medications or hospitalization. Psychiatrists who work with hospitalized patients collaborate with other healthcare professionals to design treatment plans and monitor progress.

Effective communication skills are essential for treating patients through counseling. A thorough knowledge of psychology and sociology helps identify behavioral patterns. Close interviews with individuals closely related to the patient, such as parents, children, or spouses, are also conducted to provide comprehensive care.
