About the RoleThe ORCHID HOTEL is seeking an experienced and skilled Restaurant Captain to join our team. As a Restaurant Captain, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction, maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment, and ensuring only the highest quality products are being served.
Key ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities of the Restaurant Captain include:
- Greeting and welcoming guests promptly in a warm and friendly manner.
- Thanking and giving fond farewell to guests conveying anticipation for their next visit.
- Assisting guests with table reservations and seating.
- Ensuring guests are serviced within specified time.
- Having a good knowledge of menu and presentation standards.
- Communicating with guests and staff using clear and professional language, and answering phone calls using appropriate telephone etiquette.
- Able to answer any questions regarding menu and assist with menu selections.
- Able to anticipate any unexpected guest need and react promptly and tactfully.
To be successful as a Restaurant Captain, you should have:
- Good command in both spoken and written English.
- Pleasing personality.
- Excellent guest service skills.
- Good knowledge of food and beverage service.
Preferred qualifications for the Restaurant Captain role include:
- Diploma or degree in Hotel Management or related field.
- Familiarity with Point of Sale systems, MS Office, and Property Management systems.
- 2-3 years of work experience in Food and Beverage gained from a 5-star international property.
- 1 year experience in a Captain position or a similar role.
