About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Frontend Engineer to lead our team in building cutting-edge features using React/Next.js and React native.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design software that integrates seamlessly into researchers' workflows, partnering with product owners to ensure alignment and collaboration.
  • Implement beautiful, user-friendly interfaces that enhance the user experience, taking ownership of the codebase and consistently improving it at scale.
  • Test and validate code, continuously improving practices and ensuring continuous availability and performance.
  • Manage large projects from conceptualization through to release, staying updated with industry trends and technologies to ensure scalability and maintainability.
  • Solve challenging browser quirks, such as those encountered in collaborative text editors, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience working with React/Next.js and React native.
  • Experience working with TypeScript and styling libraries like TailwindCSS, with a strong grasp of browser fundamentals and understanding of SPA (Single Page App) performance.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment, mentoring junior developers and guiding them through complex problems.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead the implementation of new front-end technologies and frameworks as necessary.

Bonus Requirements:

  • Understanding of SEO best practices and web accessibility standards, with prior experience working with high-volume, always-available web applications.
  • Prior experience working as a technical lead in previous jobs, with contributions to open-source projects or personal coding projects demonstrating expertise and passion for development.
