Key Responsibilities:

Evaluate and underwrite business proposals across product lines (fire, property, engineering, marine, etc.) based on risk assessment and underwriting guidelines.

Conduct detailed analysis of proposals to assess risk exposures and decide on appropriate terms, pricing, and conditions.

Collaborate with distribution channels and sales teams to provide technical underwriting support and enable business growth.

Maintain adherence to company policies, reinsurance guidelines, regulatory norms, and underwriting frameworks.

Handle renewals and endorsements with a focus on retention and profitability.

Participate in development and review of underwriting guidelines, process improvements, and system enhancement initiatives.

Work with actuarial and product teams to offer feedback from the ground and support portfolio-level decisions.

Support audits, MIS reporting, and data analysis related to the SME book.

Train and support junior underwriters or branch staff on underwriting practices when required.
