Scientific Business Analyst

The role of a Scientific Business Analyst is pivotal in driving the mission to serve patients with serious illnesses.

This critical position involves working closely with research partners and technology peers to ensure that technology and data needs for drug discovery research are translated into technical requirements for solution implementation.

A Scientific Business Analyst will join a multi-functional team of scientists and software professionals that enables technology and data capabilities to evaluate drug candidates and assess their abilities to affect the biology of drug targets.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Function as a Scientific Business Systems Analyst within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) product team.
  2. Function as a Scrum Master within the product team to help facilitate agile ceremonies.
  3. Serve as a liaison between global Research Informatics functional areas and global research scientists, prioritizing their needs and expectations.
  4. Manage a suite of custom internal platforms, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software, and systems integrations.
  5. Lead the Large Molecule Discovery technology ecosystem and ensure that the platform meets their requirements for data analysis and data integrity.

To be successful in this role, you will require a Master's degree and 1-3 years of experience in Life Sciences, Computer Science, IT, Computational Chemistry, Cheminformatics, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field. Alternatively, you may have a Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience, or a Diploma and 7-9 years of experience.

We are seeking individuals with demonstrated expertise in a scientific domain area and related technology needs, as well as experience with writing user requirements and acceptance criteria in agile project management systems such as JIRA.

Preferred qualifications include 3 years of experience in designing and supporting biopharma scientific software platforms, functional skills such as experience with configuration and administration of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN), and Instrument Automation and Analysis platforms.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

This role requires a strong foundation in Life Sciences, Computer Science, or a related field, with a focus on analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience with agile project management tools, such as JIRA, and proficiency in writing user requirements and acceptance criteria are essential.

Additionally, knowledge of laboratory information management systems, electronic lab notebooks, and instrument automation and analysis platforms is highly desirable.

A master's degree in a relevant field, combined with 1-3 years of experience, is preferred; however, alternative qualifications, such as a bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of experience or a diploma with 7-9 years of experience, will be considered.
