- Blood Collection Responsibilities: Collect blood samples from patients using various techniques such as venipuncture, fingerstick, or heelstick. Ensure proper identification of patients and their blood samples, accurately labeling each sample with the patient's name and other relevant information.
- Sample Transport: Safely transport blood samples to the laboratory for testing and analysis, maintaining optimal handling and storage conditions to preserve sample integrity.
- Patient Care: Monitor patient reactions and provide necessary care and support during and after the blood collection process.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all blood collections and patient interactions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to guarantee that blood samples are collected and handled appropriately for each patient.
- Equipment Maintenance: Preserve cleanliness and sterility of equipment and workspace, adhering to safety protocols when disposing of used needles and other materials.
