The Role
This role is part of our Security & Resiliency practice, which focuses on ensuring the security, availability, reliability, and resilience of enterprises of all sizes and complexity. As a Cybersecurity Defense Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing threat monitoring and detection solutions to support clients' SOC initiatives. You will work closely with our customers to assess their security needs, advise on the best solutions, and implement those solutions to protect their infrastructure.

Your Responsibilities
* Designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting SIEM/XSOAR environments
* Implementing changes to SIEM/XSOAR infrastructure
* Creating, maintaining, and consulting security monitoring measures
* Building SIEM infrastructure for new customers
* Transforming traditional SOC environments to modern SOC architectures, including cloud integrations
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery

Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* 9 years of hands-on experience in SOC operations (Standard Operations Procedures, Runbook, and Playbooks)
* Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or Rust
* Knowledge of data monitoring and data science concepts
* Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CMMI, and others
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Ability to travel up to 50% depending on client requirements

Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with QRadar, Splunk, or Microsoft Sentinel
* Thorough knowledge of SOAR technologies
* Understanding of MITRE Frameworks (ATT&CK, D3FEND) and Cyber Kill Chain
* Familiarity with operationalizing ongoing security configuration governance services using SOC standard methodologies, metrics, KPIs, KRIs, and Operational Procedures
