Cognitive Search Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Cognitive Search Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will combine expertise in Azure Cognitive Search and data engineering with a passion for delivering intuitive user experiences and business value.

This role involves architecting and implementing cognitive search solutions using Azure Cognitive Search and related AI services. You will build pipelines to ingest, index, and enrich data from diverse sources (databases, reports, dashboards, documents). Your focus will be on enabling natural language query capabilities for business users to interact with enterprise data.

You will integrate semantic search, embeddings, and generative AI techniques for advanced insights. Collaboration with business teams is essential to define use cases in finance, operations, and reporting. Partnerships with data lake and ADF pipeline teams ensure seamless integration.

This position requires agile, iterative delivery to validate and scale solutions rapidly. Compliance, data security, and ethical AI usage in search solutions are paramount. As a mentor, you will guide team members on AI search and NLP best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with Azure Cognitive Search, Cognitive Services, and AI/ML frameworks.
  • Proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and data integration for search indexing.
  • Familiarity with embeddings, NLP, and vector search technologies.
  • Experience connecting search solutions to BI tools, reports, and dashboards.
  • Strong understanding of data governance and enterprise data management.
