We're embarking on a transformative journey with our client and invite you to collaborate with us. As a key member of the SRE function within the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) team, you'll have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and some of the brightest minds in the industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Shape the organisation's reliability engineering strategy and be a founding member of the Group SRE team.
  • Collaborate with a small group of SREs across platform engineering, operations, and wider infrastructure teams for public cloud and on-premises platforms.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in setting the direction for automation and operations engineering across the organisation, ensuring seamless delivery and minimal downtime.

Main Tasks
  1. Define, drive, and implement the SRE strategy, focusing on reducing toil in operating services and promoting an 'Automate-first' culture.
  2. Promote efficient processes by developing methodologies and strategies for identifying toil-heavy and inefficient processes, automating and eliminating them.
  3. Assist in developing engineering and operational service metrics with actionable plans to enhance operational efficiency, service quality/SLA, and delivery optimisation.
  4. Work with stakeholders to develop and implement Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for critical services.
  5. Design and implement monitoring strategies with engineering and deploy appropriate capabilities.
  6. Implement reliability improvements and conduct capacity planning.
  7. Perform chaos engineering exercises and lead architectural reviews for reliability.
  8. Drive continuous improvement from incidents and contribute to Test and Deployment processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Hands-on SRE Practitioner with 5+ years of working experience in an SRE role.
  • Practical experience defining and implementing SLOs, operating to error budgets, and implementing monitoring and observability technologies for enterprise-grade production systems.
  • Experience in corporate software development lifecycle methodologies and implementation of GitOps is a plus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of technical systems, strong analytical skills, and solid knowledge of production support processes.
  • 2+ years of experience with one or more public/private cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure).
