Data Engineer

We're seeking a highly skilled data professional to drive the development and implementation of our ETL/ELT pipelines using Snowflake Tasks, Streams, and Stored Procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pipeline Development: Design and implement efficient data pipelines leveraging Snowflake's capabilities for improved query performance.
  • Data Modeling: Develop well-structured data models with optimized clustering keys and micro-partitioning strategies.
  • Data Ingestion: Implement real-time ingestion solutions using Snowpipe and integrate with external data lakes.
  • Complex Transformations: Develop custom JavaScript/SQL stored procedures and user-defined functions for complex data transformations.
  • Query Optimization: Craft high-performing SQL queries with advanced features like window functions, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), and pivots.
  • Warehouse Management: Manage multi-cluster warehouses and implement resource monitoring for cost-effective operations.

Requirements:

  • Snowflake Experience: Hands-on experience with Snowflake development, including Snowflake SQL and basic JavaScript stored procedures.
  • Task, Stream, Stage Knowledge: Working knowledge of Tasks, Streams, Stages, File Formats, Time Travel, and related concepts.
  • dbt Core Concepts: Experience with dbt core concepts (models, sources, tests, snapshots) for data modeling and transformation.
  • Warehouse Sizing and Query Optimization: Understanding of warehouse sizing, auto-suspend/resume, and query optimization techniques.
  • RBAC, Data Types, and Semi-Structured Data: Familiarity with RBAC, data types, and semi-structured data formats like JSON/XML.
  • SnowSQL CLI and Web Interface: Basic knowledge of SnowSQL CLI and Snowflake web interface for data management and analysis.
