Job Title:

Instrumentation and Control Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
  • System Design and Development:
  • Design and implementation of instrumentations and control systems for complex oil and gas projects.
  • Preparation and review of design deliverables, including Technical Specifications, Instrument Index and I/O List, and Installation drawings.
  • Inter-disciplinary activities, such as P&ID review and update, 3-D Model review, IDR/IDC, and Participation in Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies.
  • Hands-on experience with system calculations, including Inst. Sizing - Control Valve Sizing (InstruCalc, CONVAL), Flow meter sizing, and Safety valve sizing.
  • System selection and procurement, including exposure to selection of instruments and systems for hazardous areas.
  • Control system implementation, including Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Emergency Shut Down (ESD) systems, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), package control systems, and Fire & Gas systems (FGS).
  • Leadership and Project Management:
  • Estimation of engineering efforts, client meetings and reviews, site surveys and reports.
  • Coordination and supervision of cross-functional teams.
Requirements:
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Experience in instrumentation and control engineering for mid to large-scale chemical/petrochemical/oil & gas projects.
  • Familiarity with software packages, including SPI (In tools), InstruCalc / CONVAL.
  • Strong understanding of technical specifications and design deliverables.
