About Pahlé India Foundation is an action-oriented public policy think tank.

Chaired by Dr. Rajiv Kumar, we partner with state and central governments to design, implement, and assess evidence-based policies in areas such as district-led development, ease of doing business, export-led manufacturing, data systems strengthening, and impact assessments.

Role Overview

The Senior Research Associate will be based in Bhopal, working closely with state government institutions to support policy research, data analysis, and economic strategy design.

The selected candidate will play a key role in providing research-backed policy inputs to inform Madhya Pradesh's development agenda.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct applied research on economic growth, statistics, and public policy issues.
  • Analyse large datasets and apply econometric/statistical techniques for policy insights.
  • Draft policy briefs, reports, and presentations for decision-makers.
  • Engage with government officials, industry leaders, and academic stakeholders.
  • Contribute to roundtables, workshops, and consultations on policy challenges.
  • Support project design, proposal development, research project management, and internal capability building.
  • Work with other researchers to ensure high-quality outputs.
Qualification & Experience:
  • Master's, MPhil, or PhD in Economics, Statistics, or related fields from a reputed institution.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in policy research, data analysis, consulting, or academia.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and econometrics (Stata/R/Python).
  • Demonstrated ability to design and independently manage research projects.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Adherence to research timelines and deliverables in a fast-paced policy environment.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with prior work experience in state-level or applied policy research, especially in Madhya Pradesh.
