Medical Equipment Service Technician

We are seeking a skilled Medical Equipment Service Technician to manage the turnaround process of medical devices at our facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough disinfection and cleaning of medical devices in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Inspect medical devices for functional issues after patient use, identifying potential problems that require attention.
  • Replace components and consumable parts as needed to ensure optimal device performance.
  • Conduct routine Quality Control (QC) checks and maintain calibration logs to guarantee precision and accuracy.

Troubleshooting & Basic Repairs:

  • Diagnose control unit electronics issues and perform minor repairs to prevent downtime and minimize disruptions.
  • Coordinate with the Research and Development (R&D) team for advanced repairs or escalations, ensuring seamless support for complex issues.
  • Perform software and firmware updates as required to maintain device functionality and security.

Device Deployment Support:

  • Responsible for device pickups and installations as needed, providing efficient logistics support.
  • Deploy new devices or rental devices according to customer requirements, ensuring timely delivery and effective support.
  • Provide basic usage training to nursing staff or caregivers when deploying devices, promoting confident operation and maximizing user satisfaction.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate service logs, documenting device usage hours, complaints, and interventions to inform future maintenance and upgrades.
  • Prepare monthly reports for operations and product teams, facilitating data-driven decision-making and strategic planning.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in servicing medical equipment, with a strong focus on electronic devices and preventive maintenance.
  • Hands-on skills in basic electronics troubleshooting and maintenance, with a solid understanding of hospital infection control practices.

  • Excellent communication skills for effective hospital coordination and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed service documentation, ensuring transparency and accountability.
