We are seeking a seasoned professional with advanced expertise in building and maintaining scalable automation frameworks. This ideal candidate should have extensive experience in creating robust test automation solutions, ensuring high-quality product delivery, and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Test Automation Framework Development: Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver and BDD (Cucumber/Gherkin).
  • Testing Strategy: Develop and execute both manual and automated testing strategies to ensure product quality across web, API, and integration layers.
  • Feature File Writing: Write clear and concise feature files with business-oriented scenarios and maintain reusable step definitions.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, define acceptance criteria, and ensure test coverage.
  • Page Object Model Implementation: Implement and maintain Page Object Model (POM) for scalable and maintainable automation.
  • Core Framework Development: Build and extend core framework utilities such as wrappers, waits, retry mechanisms, and driver handling.
  • Clean Code Practices: Ensure clean code practices in test automation frameworks (SOLID principles, OOP concepts).
  • Defect Identification and Tracking: Identify, document, and track defects, providing detailed root cause analysis.
  • Mentorship and Process Improvement: Mentor junior QA team members and contribute to overall process improvements.
Required Skills & QualificationsCore Automation Skills
  • Selenium WebDriver: Deep knowledge of WebDriver APIs, custom waits, element handling, synchronization issues, stale elements, and workarounds.
  • BDD (Cucumber/Gherkin): Writing business-readable feature files and mapping steps correctly to ensure reusability and modularity.
  • Java (or framework language): Strong OOP concepts (inheritance, abstraction, polymorphism), clean code practices with SOLID principles, exception handling, and custom exception creation.
Framework & Layer-Specific Skills
  • Step Definitions: Designing high-level steps without mixing UI locator logic, ensuring modularity and reusability.
  • Page Object Model: Strong understanding of POM & Page Factory, writing maintainable locators and encapsulating UI interactions.
  • Core Framework: Building wrapper methods around Selenium APIs, implementing custom waits, retry mechanisms, and driver utilities, extending WebDriver with custom elements where needed.
Additional Skills
  • Manual Testing: Hands-on experience with functional, regression, smoke, UAT testing.
  • API Testing: Experience in API testing using Postman/RestAssured.
  • Test Planning and Management: Strong understanding of test planning, test design, and defect management.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab.
  • Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in QA, with at least 2+ years in automation testing.
  • Automation Framework Development: Proven experience in building and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch.
