Performance Testing Lead Job Description

This position involves leading performance testing teams, architecting end-to-end strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in performance testing, 3+ years of leadership experience, and expertise in JMeter, JavaScript, and performance monitoring tools.

Additional qualifications include experience with AI tools, strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and flexibility to work non-standard hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and mentoring performance testing teams
  • Establishing performance testing standards and processes
  • Architecting and overseeing end-to-end performance testing strategies
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Providing technical guidance and support

Technical Expertise:

  • Advanced proficiency in JMeter scripting, parameterization, and complex test scenario design
  • Experience with performance testing frameworks and methodologies beyond JMeter
  • Deep expertise in performance monitoring and diagnostics using tools such as AppDynamics, DataDog, and other APM solutions
  • Strong programming skills in JavaScript for test automation and custom scripting

Leadership & Management:

  • Proven track record of leading and mentoring performance testing teams
  • Experience in establishing performance testing standards, processes, and best practices
  • Ability to architect and oversee end-to-end performance testing strategies across multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong project management skills with experience in resource allocation and timeline management

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with AI tools in testing or performance analysis is highly preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex performance issues
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to present findings to stakeholders at all levels
  • Flexibility to work non-standard hours based on business requirements and project demands
  • Experience with cloud-based performance testing and modern application architectures preferred
