About This Role
Koch Global Services is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our cloud-based database systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain innovative database services to support our growing portfolio of managed database systems.
- Provide tactical and strategic solutions to solve specific business problems by working closely with customers and other DBAs.
- Lend your database expertise to ongoing development projects across Koch companies.
- Resolve database-related incidents and service requests within SLAs.
- Communicate directly with customer database stakeholders.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Math, or related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with MYSQL database and MSSQL database.
- 2+ years of hands-on administration experience in Cloud-technology databases, including AWS RDS databases.
- SQL performance tuning.
- MySQL DB Upgrade and Migration.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting.
- Replication configuration and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with different database technology high availability solutions.
- Experience with different backup/restore and disaster recovery solutions for MySQL.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional skills that would be beneficial in this role include:
- Experience with different cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, Oracle).
- Databases in Docker, AWS ECS containers.
- PL/SQL, stored procedures, packages, functions, and triggers.
- PostgreSQL administration.
- Expertise in automation using ansible and shell.
- Familiarity with AWS components including EC2, S3, EBS.
