At PlateStory, we are seeking a highly skilled Key Operations Manager to oversee the entire operational workflow. This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of our kitchens, offices, and delivery processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Procurement & Inventory Management

The Key Operations Manager will source high-quality baking ingredients, chocolate, dairy products, specialty sugars, and packaging materials at competitive prices. They will negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms with vendors and suppliers, and implement efficient inventory management systems to ensure consistent stock levels, accurate record-keeping, and minimal wastage.

  • Kitchen & Facility Operations

This role will oversee the day-to-day functioning of our kitchen facilities, ensuring equipment is in excellent condition and that all production areas adhere to sanitation and food safety guidelines. The Key Operations Manager will coordinate with bakers, pastry chefs, and decorators to ensure the timely availability of ingredients and materials for each production cycle, and enforce SOPs to maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Office Management & Administrative Support

The Key Operations Manager will ensure smooth administrative operations within the office, including supplies management and coordination with administrative staff. They will optimize workflows and propose improvements for more efficient office support and communication channels, and maintain records of orders, deliveries, and operational costs for analysis and reporting.

  • Logistics & Delivery Coordination

This role will work closely with logistics partners and delivery teams to ensure that finished products (cakes, pastries, desserts) are delivered to customers in a timely and secure manner. The Key Operations Manager will plan delivery routes, schedules, and packaging solutions to maintain product freshness, aesthetics, and quality during transit, monitor delivery metrics, address issues promptly, and implement process improvements for efficiency and customer satisfaction.

  • Quality Control & Compliance

The Key Operations Manager will conduct regular quality checks on all products, ensuring that each cake and dessert meets the company's taste, texture, and presentation standards. They will maintain compliance with food safety regulations and internal protocols, identify operational issues and recommend corrective measures and preventive strategies.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication

This role will coordinate with finance to manage budgets, payment schedules for suppliers, and cost analyses. The Key Operations Manager will collaborate with product development teams to anticipate ingredient requirements for new desserts or seasonal offerings, and communicate effectively with management, kitchen staff, and delivery teams to ensure alignment with business goals and customer expectations.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Hospitality, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in operations, procurement, supply chain, or a related role in the food industry—experience with baked goods or desserts is a plus.
  • Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with inventory control systems, procurement strategies, and food supply chains.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with different teams.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices.
