Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer

Nielsen Marketing Cloud is a leading big-data group within The Nielsen Company, a global measurement and big data analytics company. We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps engineer with a strong passion for cutting-edge technologies.

Job Overview
  • As a Senior DevOps engineer, you will be responsible for planning and deploying production servers in high scale on AWS, deploying services to Kubernetes, monitoring our infrastructure, and supporting our development teams.
  • Your responsibilities will include:
  • Developing, automating, and enhancing SaaS/PaaS platforms built on AWS
  • Leading discussions with developers, driving technical/architectural decisions relating to DevOps/AWS best practices
  • Deploying Infrastructure as code (IAC) to improve the availability, scalability, and efficiency of platforms
  • Ensuring the availability, performance, scalability, and security of production systems
  • Building automated tests, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms to help assure the quality and stability of various services
  • Mentoring and teaching newer members of the Platform Operations team and other development teams about new tools and services we're using
  • Implementing and managing continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI/CD) systems and methodologies (Gitlab, Kubernetes)
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience with Cloud services in a 24x7 uptime environment
  • Fluent in bash and SQL for automation. Python is an added advantage
  • Experience with automation technologies such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Gitlab, Jenkins (or similar platforms)
  • Experience with system monitoring tools, analyzing and resolving complex infrastructure and application deployment issues
  • Experience in one or more SQL databases
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or related fields, or equivalent work experience
