Product Design Engineer Role Summary

As a Product Design Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on our automotive solutions to support next generation automotive connector design, development, and product ownership.

What You Will Do

- Project Definition: Develop product scope, voice of customer, and concept generation
- Predictive Engineering: Execute Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and tolerance analysis
- Detailed Design: Create product models & drawings using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) methodology, plastic and sheet-metal part design

Design Verification, Product Validation:

- Validation Plan: Develop test plans (Design Verification Plans and Reports) to validate product performance and analyze test results using statistical methods
- Problem Solving: Lead root cause analysis utilizing structured problem-solving methods such as 8D

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

Work Experience: 0-5 years product design experience

Education:

Required: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent science degree

Preferred: Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent science degree

Key Skills: New product design process, Concept generation, DFMEA, GD&T, Tolerance analysis, DVPR, Plastic parts, Manufacturability, Problem solving
