Job Role : Oracle Database Administrator

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Oracle Database Administrator to join our team at Aricent. As a Senior Oracle Database Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our enterprise-level Oracle Database environments. This includes deploying and managing Oracle Cloud services, ensuring the performance, availability, and security of our databases, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle Database instances across all versions, including Oracle Database 10g, 11g, 12c, and 19c.
  • Design and implement robust database backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical data and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve performance issues using tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager, AWR reports, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure monitoring.
  • Implement and enforce database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and auditing, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Plan and execute database migrations, upgrades, and patch deployments with minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Configure and manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions, such as Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Data Guard, and Oracle Autonomous Database in Oracle Cloud.
  • Automate routine database administration tasks using PL/SQL scripts, Oracle Enterprise Manager, or other tools to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborate with developers to optimize SQL queries, database schema design, and indexing strategies for improved performance and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and best practices for database administration processes and procedures.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, continually seeking opportunities to enhance our database infrastructure and operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Database Administrator, with expertise in managing all versions of Oracle Database.
  • Proven experience in deploying and managing Oracle Cloud services, including Oracle Autonomous Database and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • In-depth knowledge of Oracle Database architecture, internals, and advanced features.
  • Strong understanding of database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions for Oracle Database, both on-premises and in the cloud.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using PL/SQL, SQL-Plus, or similar tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) are highly desirable.
