Real Estate Legal Expert Job Description

This role involves managing legal aspects of real estate transactions, property development projects, and land-related matters.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate agreements related to real estate, such as sale agreements, development agreements, joint development agreements, conveyance deeds, etc.
  • Review contracts/agreements related to the support functions of the company.
  • Conduct title due diligence, revenue record scrutiny, encumbrance checks, and search reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Maharashtra-specific real estate laws, including MLRC, RERA, MOFA, and other applicable legislations.
  • Handle RERA registrations, updates, and compliance filings.
  • Identify risks in transactions and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Provide opinions on property-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting Agreements: Draft, review, and negotiate agreements related to real estate, such as sale agreements, development agreements, joint development agreements, conveyance deeds, etc.
  • Contract Review: Review contracts/agreements related to the support functions of the company.
  • Title Due Diligence: Conduct title due diligence, revenue record scrutiny, encumbrance checks, and search reports.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with Maharashtra-specific real estate laws, including MLRC, RERA, MOFA, and other applicable legislations.
  • RERA Registrations: Handle RERA registrations, updates, and compliance filings.
  • Risk Management: Identify risks in transactions and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Opinions: Provide opinions on property-related issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Education: LL.B. / LL.M. from a recognized university.
  • Experience: Minimum 6 years of hands-on real estate legal practice, preferably in Maharashtra.
  • Strong knowledge of Maharashtra-specific property laws.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
