Job Overview

Cvent's Machine Learning and Data Science team is dedicated to enhancing our products with AI-driven features and data-informed decision-making.

  • We are looking for a talented data scientist to join our growing team and contribute to the development of industry-leading machine learning, AI, and data analytics solutions.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Collaborate with a team of data scientists, software developers, and product owners to identify applications for AI and machine learning.
  • Understand Cvent's product lines, business models, and data collection processes.
  • Perform machine learning research on various types of data, including numeric, text, audio, video, and image.
  • Deliver machine learning models in a production-ready state for operationalization via Cvent's products.
  • Document your work and results thoroughly, enabling another data scientist to replicate them.
  • Enhance your skills in machine learning, writing production-quality Python code, and communication.

Hiring Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (natural sciences, math, statistics, computer science).
  • 4-7 years of experience working as a data scientist in industry.
  • Familiarity with the Linux operating system and command-line work.
  • Conceptual and technical understanding of machine learning, including model training and evaluation.
  • Experience with formal Python coding.
  • Proficiency in machine learning packages in Python.
  • Experience with relational databases and query-writing in SQL.
  • Knowledge of linear algebra and statistics.
  • Data exploration and interpretation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A Master's or PhD degree in a quantitative field.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI.
  • Experience with Databricks and/or Snowflake platforms.
  • Ability to write production-quality Python code with testing coverage.
  • Experience working on a cloud platform (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud), especially machine learning R&D on a cloud platform.
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, including Git processes, code reviews, test-driven development, and CI/CD.
  • Experience with A/B testing.
  • Data visualization and dashboarding skills.
  • Knowledge of how to interact with a REST API.
  • Proven ability for proactive, independent work with some supervision.
