The role of Commodity Market Specialist is pivotal in monitoring domestic and international markets to identify trends and dynamics. The individual will execute trades in physical or derivatives markets, developing relationships with stakeholders such as farmers, brokers, processors, exporters, importers, and institutional clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor market trends and dynamics to inform trading strategies
- Execute buy/sell trades in physical or derivatives markets
- Develop and analyze spread/arbitrage opportunities
- Negotiate contracts and prices for procurement and sale of commodities
- Manage logistics, warehousing, and delivery schedules
- Mitigate risk using hedging strategies
- Ensure compliance with trade regulations, quality standards, and documentation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in agriculture, economics, business, or related field
- In-depth knowledge of agricultural markets and commodities
- Understanding of trading platforms and exchanges
- Proficient in data analysis, market intelligence tools, and Excel
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and networking skills
