Job Summary:

Emerson is seeking a highly skilled Compliance Engineer to ensure compliance and regulatory standards for industrial control products. As a key member of our innovative team, you will work closely with design teams to identify and mitigate EMC and safety risks, create and execute test plans, troubleshoot issues, and manage compliance testing. You will also coordinate with global certification bodies and marine agencies to secure new or renewed certifications. This role offers the opportunity to make impactful technical presentations and collaborate with technical architects.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify and track regulatory and compliance requirements for industrial control products.
  • Participate in compliance reviews with design teams from the early stages, providing inputs for early mitigation of potential EMC or safety issues.
  • Create test plans and equipment configurations for EMC, safety, and marine testing.
  • Execute in-house EMC and safety testing for pre-compliance and certification.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve EMC issues.
  • Prepare test reports and coordinate submissions with certification bodies.
  • Coordinate with marine agencies for new or renewal certifications.
  • Manage compliance test lab, equipment, and calibration schedules.
  • Support factory and engineering audits, addressing non-conformities.
  • Oversee the laboratory quality assurance program and annual lab audits for EMC data acceptance.
  • Deliver technical presentations to peers and managers on regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Communicate technical issues effectively with architects.
Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of proven expertise in regulatory and compliance requirements, specifically in industrial control products.
  • Strong understanding of IEC, ATEX, and CISPR standards.
  • Skilled in measurement and validation methods for hardware design, with experience in using related instruments.
  • Proficient in electrical and electronics design, with a solid foundation in circuit analysis theory.
  • Familiarity with ECAD tools such as Mentor Graphics or Cadence is a plus.
  • Capable of coordinating tasks across teams including Firmware, Mechanical, Component Engineering, and PCB layout.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience on developing IO modules for PLC will be an added advantage.
