Closure Door Trim Lead Engineer

This is a key role within the Door Trim Team in our Body Engineering department.

We are seeking an experienced engineer to lead the engineering design, technical development and delivery of interior components for new or ongoing program development (OPD) projects through to launch at our manufacturing plant. The successful candidate will achieve supplier parts submission warrant (PSW) in line with programme timing, ensuring integrity of the cabin and vehicle systems across specific programmes.

The role involves responsibility for owning commodities and components of various projects, including delivering commodity plans to quality, cost and time, maintaining the worldwide engineering release system and managing change requests, expenditure forecasting and relevant supplier teams in support of delivery of programme milestones.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the resolution of business, technical and process issues within a project team environment.
  • Developing and implementing product creation and delivery strategies, including change control, product definition and change management processes.
  • Providing expert knowledge of automotive body cabin systems, plastic and sheet metal materials, design rules, bill of design, bill of process, DFMEA, DVP, DFM, part and assembly level tests etc.
  • Creating 2D sections and 3D geometry using Catia V5/V6/TCE/Digibuck.
  • Managing domain knowledge, parametric modelling, BOM creation and update.
  • Ensuring good GD&T knowledge and experience of Enovia, Teamcenter Engineering (TCE), part release process and system.
  • Engineering knowledge of defined component(s)/system(s) design, function, performance, production and manufacturing requirements.
  • Demonstrating excellent communications skills, ability to communicate at all levels and PC literacy: Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word etc.

Requirements:

  • BE/B.Tech, ME in Mechanical/Production/Automotive Engineering.
