Pipe Fitter Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pipe Fitter to join our team.

Job Description:

A Pipe Fitter is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing pipes and piping systems. This involves working with a variety of materials, including steel, copper, and PVC, and using a range of tools and equipment to ensure that pipes are properly fitted and functioning correctly.

Pipe Fitters work in a variety of settings, including construction sites, factories, and power plants. They must be able to read blueprints and diagrams, and have a good understanding of safety procedures and protocols.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of experience in piping in the oil/gas industry;
  • Working knowledge of methods of installation and repair of piping systems;
  • Working knowledge of methods of overhaul and repair of valves;
  • Working knowledge of safety precautions in the pipefitting trade;
  • Ability to use tools and equipment necessary to affect repairs;
  • Ability to read piping and mechanical drawings;
  • Tack welding pipes and qualified for arc welding of small diameter steel piping;
  • Working knowledge of characteristics of pipes constructed of a variety of materials;
  • Undertake pressure testing of Piping systems.

Candidates should have strong problem-solving skills and be able to work well under pressure. Excellent communication skills are also essential, as Pipe Fitters must be able to explain their work to colleagues and supervisors.
