Senior Category Leader for Building Materials

We seek an accomplished Senior Category Leader to oversee the building materials category across a defined region. This is a senior leadership role with full revenue and profitability ownership, as well as team management responsibilities.

About the Position

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in building material sourcing, pricing strategy, vendor management, and category growth in the construction or real estate sector. Key responsibilities include:

  • Drive sales and profitability of the building materials category across the assigned region.
  • Develop and execute strategies for category expansion, margin improvement, and cost efficiency.
  • Monitor market trends, customer demand, and pricing to optimize sourcing and sales strategies.

Financial Management

Take end-to-end ownership of the regional P&L for building materials. Manage key metrics including top-line revenue, gross margin, cost of goods, and working capital.

Team Leadership

Lead and manage a team of 8–10 category and procurement managers across the region. Set clear KPIs, drive performance reviews, and enable skill development for team members.

Candidate Profile

Experience: 10–18 years in procurement, category management, or supply chain — preferably in the construction, infrastructure, or building materials industry. Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business; MBA preferred.
