Cybersecurity Engineer - Compliance and Threat Expert

As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our Software as a Medical Device (SaaMD) offerings. You will lead efforts in securing our SaaMD SDLC through the design, implementation, and monitoring of robust security controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive threat models using industry-standard tools like LucidChart.
  • Conduct thorough penetration testing via BurpSuite, nmap, Wireshark, and Deptrack to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Apply risk-based approaches to identify and mitigate threats proactively, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO 13485.
  • Collaborate with Quality & Regulatory teams to ensure seamless integration with existing audit processes.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for internal and external audits.

Compliance & Audit Readiness:

  • Partner with development teams to drive remediation workflows and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Support the creation of training modules to cultivate a security-first mindset among team members.
  • Advocate for secure engineering practices across the organization.

Vulnerability Management:

  • Translate complex risks into business-friendly language, enabling informed decision-making.
  • Deliver periodic updates on security posture to leadership, highlighting actionable steps for improvement.
  • Develop expertise with Grype, Dockle, Trivy, and other industry-standard tools for vulnerability assessment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or relevant field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, preferably in healthcare or medical devices.
  • Proven knowledge of ISO/IEC 27001, 27002, and ISO 13485 frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with LucidChart, BurpSuite, nmap, Wireshark, and Deptrack.
  • Track record of supporting internal and external audits, ensuring regulatory compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications like CISSP, CEH, OSCP, CISM, or ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer.
  • Background in SaaMD or regulated industries (healthcare/pharma).
  • Familiarity with frameworks like NIST, HITRUST, and CI/CD workflows.
