Data Center Mechanical Design Expert

Job Overview:

  • We are seeking an experienced mechanical design engineer to lead the technical aspects of cooling design for hyperscale data centers.

About the Role:

  • The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of thermal management, HVAC systems, and energy-efficient cooling technologies critical to the operation of large-scale, high-performance data centers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cooling System Design Leadership:
    • Design innovative cooling solutions for hyperscale data centers, including chilled water systems, direct expansion (DX) systems, air and liquid cooling technologies, and alternative cooling methods.
    • Design and optimize cooling infrastructure for data centers to maintain desired temperature and humidity levels, ensuring efficient performance, system reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Project Management and Oversight:
    • Lead the technical aspects of cooling design throughout the project lifecycle, from concept through to installation, testing, and commissioning.
    • Provide technical guidance and oversight to junior engineers, ensuring high-quality standards are met and maintained throughout the design and implementation phases.
  • Sustainability and Energy Efficiency:
    • Design and implement sustainable and energy-efficient cooling systems, with a focus on minimizing energy consumption and the carbon footprint of data center operations.
    • Lead initiatives to integrate renewable energy solutions, waste heat recovery, or free cooling systems (e.g., using ambient air) into the data center cooling design.

Requirements:
