Role Overview

As a seasoned mechanical designer, you will be responsible for developing innovative solutions from concept to production. This includes designing complete sensor systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring seamless product integration.

  • Create detailed designs for housings, gas flow architecture, simulation chambers, control units, and portable instruments.
  • Collaborate closely with electronics, materials, and compliance teams to drive product development forward.
  • Develop and optimize designs for suitability to manufacture, performance, and cost across diverse environmental conditions.
  • Select materials and finishes compatible with gas sensing applications.
What You Should Bring

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in mechanical/product design.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design.
  • Membership in a Formula One Student Team (required).
  • Expertise in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Fusion 360, Inventor, and CATIA.
  • Experience with injection moulding and CNC-based metallic enclosures.
  • Knowledge of NPT, BSP, BSPT threads and machined fittings.
  • Understanding of FDM/SLA additive manufacturing and CNC basics (laser/milling).
  • A strong grasp of DFM principles and product rollout lifecycle.
