Logistics Operations Manager for Retail Network Optimization

At Reliance Industries Limited, we are seeking a skilled Logistics Operations Manager to join our team in optimizing secondary distribution planning for our extensive retail network. As a key member of our logistics team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient movement of products from assigned supply terminals to our retail outlets.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to enhance distribution efficiency, minimize costs, and maximize retail margins. This includes collaborating with primary distribution planners, HO logistics, and FCA teams to ensure seamless product positioning at retail outlets while adhering to safety protocols and statutory regulations.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. You will be responsible for managing transport vendors, selecting tank trucks, and ensuring compliance with organizational HSE guidelines. Additionally, you will need to track performance metrics, address terminal escalations, and engage with transporters to improve contract performance and safety standards.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Scheduling, planning, and executing indents, as well as tolling vehicles according to FIFO principles to prevent pending indents
- Handling operational issues related to loading, decantation, en-route issues, incidents, accidents, diversion of tank trucks, off-spec product handling, QnQ, and POD-related issues
- Closing supplied material PODs on time and preparing routine logistics MIS reports for timely publication
- Collaborating with sales teams, transporters, and terminals to maintain smooth operations and resolve disputes
- Ensuring availability of sufficient inventory and coordinating with fuel services for timely replacement of locks/seals
- Monitoring VTS key safety parameters and taking action to achieve better control
- Arranging daily tool box talks, monthly safety meetings, and DDT training for drivers while maintaining records
- Ensuring freight rate communication to transporters, route or toll mapping, and optimization of TT performance
In addition to these responsibilities, you will also be involved in customer relationship management, resolving complaints related to logistics service levels, developing healthy relationships with vendors, and ensuring timely payments. You will also need to coordinate with road transportation and terminal operations to ensure timely deliveries.
We are looking for someone with excellent analytical and logical thinking skills, expertise in vehicle tracking systems, and knowledge of leading and lagging safety indicators of transportation safety. If you have a strong background in logistics operations and scheduling principles, this could be the perfect opportunity for you to grow your career.
A bachelor's degree in any field and an MBA (preferable) are required. We are looking for candidates with 07-10 years of experience in logistics/terminal operations and a passion for ensuring the usage of technology to achieve safe transportation practices.
Estimated salary for this position is ₹1,200,000 - ₹1,800,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and location.
