Job Description:

As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing search solutions that meet the complexities of our data engine.

• Develop custom analysers, tokenisers, and scoring algorithms leveraging OpenSearch/Elasticsearch to drive meaningful insights from large datasets.

• Manage index templates, mappings, and lifecycle policies to ensure data integrity, performance, and scalability across various applications.

• Design query pipeline builders and optimise search pipelines tailored to complex business requirements to deliver exceptional user experiences.

• Implement AI/ML/LLM powered search capabilities for data enrichment and improved search relevance, driving business growth and customer satisfaction.

• Build robust, scalable APIs for search using Python (FastAPI) to integrate with multiple systems and tools.

• Lead integration, regression, and performance testing efforts to ensure reliability and accuracy of search features, meeting the highest standards of quality.

• Automate deployment and management of search infrastructure, including index templates and search pipelines, to streamline operations and improve efficiency.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality search experiences that meet business objectives and exceed customer expectations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5+ years experience with Elasticsearch or OpenSearch in production environments
  • Expertise in AI/LLM-based search experiences such as RAG, learning to rank, and query understanding
  • Deep understanding of search concepts: analysers, tokenisers, relevance tuning, custom scoring, and query DSL
  • Experience with index template management, lifecycle policies, and large-scale data modelling
  • Proficiency in designing and optimising search pipelines and custom query builders
  • Hands-on experience developing software using AI-assisted tools and workflows
  • Strong testing background: integration, regression, and performance testing
  • DevOps skills: automation, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
