Email Security Specialist Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated cybersecurity practice for Proofpoint implementations as a certified Proofpoint Service Partner.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with email security or cybersecurity solutions, and a strong understanding of networking concepts and email protocols such as SMTP, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.

Key responsibilities include deploying and configuring Proofpoint solutions, working closely with clients to understand their security needs, designing appropriate configurations, and ensuring successful implementations.

Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to email flow, phishing, malware, encryption, and policy enforcement are also essential duties.

Maintenance of documentation and support handover materials for clients, as well as participation in training programs and certifications to gain Proofpoint expertise are also required.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and client-facing skills, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Deploy and configure Proofpoint solutions (e.g., Email Protection, TAP, DLP, Security Awareness, etc.)
• Work closely with clients to understand security needs, design appropriate configurations, and ensure successful implementations
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to email flow, phishing, malware, encryption, and policy enforcement
• Work with internal teams and Proofpoint support to escalate and resolve complex problems
• Maintain documentation and support handover materials for clients
• Participate in training programs and certifications to gain Proofpoint expertise

Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience with email security or cybersecurity solutions
• Understanding of email protocols: SMTP, SPF, DKIM, DMARC
• Strong understanding of networking concepts
• Familiarity with email routing, filtering, and encryption
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience with Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace environments
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills

Preferred qualifications include exposure to Proofpoint solutions, knowledge of cyber threat vectors, phishing techniques, and remediation, as well as experience working with SIEM or SOAR platforms.
