**About the Role:**

As a System Administrator at Tata Consultancy Services, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our enterprise-grade server hardware and software systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and troubleshoot enterprise-grade server hardware, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Provide support for various Unix platforms, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE, and AIX.
  • Manage user accounts, file systems using LVM and native Unix commands, schedule cron jobs, and handle NFS clients.
  • Assist with hardware and software installation, configuration, troubleshooting, patching, and backup of client servers.
  • Perform hardware and software upgrades, apply security patches, and recommended operating system patches.
  • Monitor system performance, perform backups, and restores.
  • Familiarity with Azure and Hadoop is preferred.
  • Knowledge of incident, change, and problem management processes.

Requirements:

  • Must have experience working on enterprise-grade server hardware.
  • Good exposure to various Unix flavors, especially SUSE Linux and RHEL technologies.
  • Desired experience range: 3-8 years.
  • Awareness of ITIL practices.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • ITIL Foundation certification is a plus.
