Senior Open Telemetry Engineer

The ideal candidate will collaborate with development teams to implement OpenTelemetry instrumentation in application code, utilizing both zero-code and manual approaches.
Support the configuration of observability analytical backends, such as Datadog, Dynatrace, or Grafana.
Guide teams in the implementation of infrastructure for observability.
Collaborate with the Application Observability Platform team to maintain the 24/7/365 availability and reliability of the OpenTelemetry infrastructure.
Requirements- Strong proficiency in OpenTelemetry, including hands-on experience with OTLP protocol, OpenTelemetry Semantic Conventions, OpenTelemetry Collector, and OpenTelemetry Java Agent.
- Practical ability to instrument Java code using the OpenTelemetry API and OpenTelemetry Java SDK.
- Broad understanding of cloud services and their role in modern application deployment.
- Basic knowledge of Linux commands and day-to-day troubleshooting.
- At least 7 years of experience in software development, preferably in Java (Python experience is also acceptable).
- Hands-on experience working with observability analytical backends such as Datadog, Dynatrace, or Grafana.
- Good experience working with container technologies (e.g., Docker).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with development teams and other stakeholders.
