Senior Operations Manager

Job Description:

  • Lead the operation of heavy machinery in cement manufacturing processes within the plant.
  • Manage unplanned work resulting from breakdown and emergencies, prioritizing tasks as required.
  • Prepare material specifications and order stock or suppliers to ensure best price and delivery.
  • Provide support and advice on equipment purchases and manage disposal or sale of surplus equipment.
  • Drive growth for the organization and ensure sustained growth in line with long-term and short-term objectives.
  • Develop an environmental strategy including waste management, recycling, and reuse of resources.
  • Ensure the plant conforms to all health and safety regulations to minimize danger or accidents.
  • Assure design engineering services meet professional standards, client requirements, and corporate objectives.
  • Establish long-term relationships with government authorities and local leaders for smooth equipment acquisition and construction activities.
  • Perform routine checks of cement plant areas (Roller/Ball Mills, Kiln, Bughouse, Crusher); conduct basic levels of inspection.
  • Build and follow a checklist for equipment health monitoring.
  • Log workshop equipment calibration and maintenance schedules.
  • Investigate anomalies or causes for breakdown during shutdown or heavy machinery failure.
  • Routine fix of worn-out parts of plant areas.
  • Instruct technicians and unskilled workers on problem-solving techniques.
  • Monitor plant parameters (internal kiln, packing plant) to initiate start/stop/vary actions as needed.
  • Oversee vehicle cleaning programs to meet operational/logistical requirements.
  • Initiate employee sensitization towards digitization and automation.
  • Focus on utilizing advanced business analytics tools for organizational success.
  • Review team member performance and provide developmental support/input.
  • Recommend training for team development.
  • Update team knowledge base to cater to organizational needs.
  • Strategize for enhancing employee satisfaction and engagement.
