Senior SQL Server DBA Job Description

CES is seeking a highly skilled Senior SQL Server Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our database team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance SQL Server databases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement database architectures to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers to improve database performance.
  • Implement and manage database backups, recovery plans, and disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
  • Monitor database performance and make recommendations for improvements to ensure optimal database performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with application developers to design database models and data structures to ensure seamless integration.
  • Ensure database security and compliance with data governance policies to protect sensitive data.
  • Perform SQL Server traces and execution plans to optimize SQL queries and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator and Developer.
  • Strong proficiency in T-SQL, stored procedures, and advanced querying techniques.
  • Experience with database tuning, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions.
  • Familiarity with data modeling tools and techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with strong communication skills.
  • Experience in Databricks is a plus.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong proficiency in T-SQL, stored procedures, and advanced querying techniques.
  • Experience with database tuning, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions.
