Job Description

At PTC Industries Limited, we are seeking an experienced Industrial Process Optimization Engineer to join our machine shop operations team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in enhancing the manufacturability and cost-effectiveness of parts/castings production and development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to develop tooling, fixtures, and jigs for CNC machining operations, ensuring optimal machining solutions and reducing costs.
  • Prepare process sheets for manufacturing, evaluate tooling options, and recommend quality control processes to meet product standards.
  • Create and maintain essential documentation, such as CNC programs, work instructions, and SOPs, to standardize production processes.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for critical NCRs to identify and address underlying issues.
  • Conduct analyses to optimize workflow, throughput, and work cell layout, providing technical support to resolve manufacturing issues and improve process efficiency.
  • Evaluate overall OEE and labor efficiency, working with the production team to develop new parts with optimized cycle times.
  • Work with maintenance personnel to diagnose and rectify recurring equipment failures, implementing corrective actions to reduce downtime.
  • Perform cost analysis for machining processes, identifying cost-saving opportunities and contributing to the budgeting process for machine shop operations.
  • Train machine operators in new processes and techniques, mentoring junior engineers to promote skill development and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Regularly conduct Gemba walks to identify and implement Kaizen opportunities, driving continuous improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S in shop floor operations.
Desired Candidate ProfileRequirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering is preferable.
  • Experience of 1-2 years in process engineering within an industrial casting manufacturing environment, with a focus on machine shop operations.
  • Understanding of machining processes, CNC programming, and tooling optimization.
  • Proficient in using process improvement tools and methodologies, such as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
Competencies:
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey technical information.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in using CAD/CAM software for process optimization and design.

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum.
