Cybersecurity Threat Response Specialist

About the RoleThis role will be based in Bangalore, India, and offers a hybrid work option, allowing you to work from home and commute to a LinkedIn office, depending on what's best for you and your team. The Incident Response Engineer will be an integral part of our Information Security organization, responsible for protecting our infrastructure, applications, and most importantly, our members.
The successful candidate will have real-world experience in responding to and leading security investigations, developing playbooks, and continually striving to improve processes and response times. They will drive small to medium-scale incidents with multiple team members and partner teams to closure, conduct host, network, and log analysis in support of incident response investigations, and enhance our in-house incident response platforms and build new capabilities.
Responsibilities- Triage security alerts and incident reports independently.
- Investigate incidents using available resources, forensic and threat hunting skills.
- Drive small to medium-scale incidents with multiple team members and partner teams to closure.
- Conduct host, network, and log analysis in support of incident response investigations.
- Enhance our in-house incident response platforms and build new capabilities.
- Participate in on-call activities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information security, cybersecurity, or computer science, with 3+ years of experience in incident response and security investigations. They will also possess experience with triaging security alerts, incident lifecycle and incident handling, log analysis, SIEM solutions, Windows and Unix operating systems logs, Web Server logs, EDR solutions, system level analysis (windows, linux, and mac), and one or more areas such as System Forensics, Network Forensics, Cloud Forensics, SOAR/Security Orchestration, or Threat Intelligence.
