**Job Title:** Software Development Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Backend Engineer to join our offshore consulting team. This critical role will focus on a major strategic initiative: migrating core functionality from legacy systems to modern, event-driven architectures.

Your primary responsibility will be to deconstruct legacy code that handles crucial integrations with our platform and re-implement it as resilient, scalable, and cloud-native services. You will be instrumental in modernizing our event-handling stack, moving away from central message brokers to distributed systems built on cloud platforms.

The ideal candidate is a proactive engineer who thrives on understanding complex systems, takes full ownership of their work from development to production, and is excited to leverage modern tools to accelerate migration efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design & Develop: Architect, build, and maintain high-performance microservices using Java Spring Boot.
  • Legacy Code Migration: Analyze existing legacy code that integrates with our platform, understand its business logic, and lead its migration to the new architecture.
  • Event-Driven Architecture: Decommission legacy message brokers and implement modern event-driven systems using cloud-native technologies like Google Cloud Pub/Sub.
  • Cloud-Native Solutions: Build and deploy services using cloud platform technologies, including Cloud Functions, Spanner, and Firestore.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in backend software development, with a strong emphasis on enterprise-level systems.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot framework.
  • Professional experience with .NET (C#), with a demonstrated ability to read, understand, and reverse-engineer legacy codebases.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platform services like Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Spanner, and/or Firestore.
