Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Mobile Application Technical Lead to join our engineering team. As a player-coach, you will manage a remote team of engineers and take ownership of the systems behind our Mobile App and Point of Sale software.

This role offers high-impact technical leadership with formal people management responsibilities. You will drive architectural solutions collaboratively with your team and engineering leadership to build and scale our mobile products.

Responsibilities
  • Drive architectural solutions collaboratively with your team and engineering leadership.
  • Write production code regularly as a core contributor while maintaining oversight of your team's technical deliverables.
  • Own operational excellence for your team's systems including monitoring, incident response, and reliability improvements.
  • Champion modern development practices.
  • Lead a team of 3 software engineers.
  • Partner closely with product managers.
Requirements
  • Owned solution design for complex features within mobile apps before.
  • Worked in product-driven companies and driven pace and delivery.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication.
  • Strong self-learning drive.
  • Prior experience with React Native is highly valued.
Technical Background

You should be comfortable writing production React Native code.

  • React Native for cross-platform mobile development.
  • A modern GraphQL based API which drives an optimised frontend datastore capability.
  • Extensive application monitoring tools.
  • A backend built on a serverless, event-driven system architecture running on AWS.
