Cybersecurity Specialist

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Specialist to protect our organization's computer systems, networks, and data from potential security threats, vulnerabilities, and attacks. This role involves proactive monitoring, identifying threats, and implementing security measures to ensure data security and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Security Monitoring & Incident Response: Monitor networks, systems, and applications for potential security incidents. Respond to and investigate security breaches, vulnerabilities, and attacks in a timely manner.
Threat Analysis & Risk Management: Conduct regular threat assessments, vulnerability assessments, and risk management activities to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
Security Tool Management: Utilize and manage security tools such as SIEM systems, firewalls, antivirus programs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems to ensure network security.
Data Protection & Encryption: Implement and maintain data protection mechanisms, such as encryption protocols, to safeguard sensitive information from unauthorized access or theft.
Security Policies & Compliance: Ensure the organization adheres to internal security policies, industry regulations, and best practices related to data protection, privacy, and cybersecurity.
Penetration Testing & Vulnerability Management: Conduct penetration testing to identify system vulnerabilities and work with the IT team to remediate risks.
Security Awareness Training: Provide training and awareness programs for employees on best practices in cybersecurity and phishing attack prevention.
Reporting & Documentation: Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, risk assessments, and security breaches. Maintain documentation of security protocols, incident responses, and resolutions.
Collaboration with IT Teams: Work closely with IT teams to ensure the implementation of effective security measures, patch management, and secure configurations.
Security Audits: Perform regular security audits to assess and enhance security policies, procedures, and configurations.
Requirements:
Experience: At least 7 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or a related field.
Knowledge of Security Tools: Proficiency in using security monitoring and management tools such as SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus, and VPN technologies.
Incident Response & Forensics: Strong knowledge of incident response processes, digital forensics, and malware analysis.
Vulnerability Management: Experience with vulnerability scanning tools like Nessus, Qualys, or OpenVAS, and remediation practices.
Compliance & Standards: Familiarity with industry standards and regulations such as ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS.
Network Security: Understanding of network security protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS) and the ability to secure networks and systems.
Penetration Testing: Experience in conducting penetration tests and using tools like Metasploit, Burp Suite, or Kali Linux.
Certifications (Preferred): Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are a plus.
