Database Administrator

Job Summary:

The Database Administrator will be responsible for supporting database operations including performance monitoring, query optimization, code deployments, access management, and database analysis. The candidate will operate in Oracle and Exadata databases, creating database objects, investigating performance issues, and monitoring data retention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support ongoing efforts to migrate multiple databases to Exadata.
  • Review and implement data loading scripts related to Golden Gate data replication.
  • Optimize and tune SQL queries and indexes in Oracle.
  • Work with Oracle 12c/Oracle 19c/Exadata features and functionality.
  • Develop strong programming skills using PL/SQL (package, procedures, functions, triggers).
  • Proficient in performance tuning using SQL Trace, Explain Plan, Indexing, and Hints.
  • Strong knowledge of database triggers, indexes, and partitioning.
  • Expertise in Oracle architecture.
  • Monitor database performance as it relates to memory usage, proper backups, active sessions, long-running queries, tablespace configuration, and space allocations.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of logical and physical DBA experience, including experience in Oracle Exadata.
  • Extensive working knowledge of all aspects of Database Data Movement and Processing.
  • Familiarity with agile methodology.
  • Working experience with TOAD or Oracle SQL Developer.
  • Excellent communication and self-motivation skills.
