We are seeking a skilled optics professional to design and develop electron-optical systems for commercial Scanning Electron Microscopes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for architecting high-resolution, low-drift performance in the column, source, lenses, detector coupling, and imaging quality.

This is an opportunity to shape the architecture and culture of a semiconductor-equipment ecosystem where optics, electronics, mechanics, and software converge.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Architecting and aligning the column for high-resolution performance
  • Translating optics theory into tolerances, calibration routines, and alignment jigs
  • Co-designing with Electronics to ensure deterministic beam control and with Software to expose intuitive imaging controls
  • Building and maintaining the calibration playbook - resolution, magnification, distortion - and training others to run it

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Deep experience in electron optics, including hands-on work with alignment, vacuum hardware, and lab metrology
  • Comfort working between modeling, bench work, and factory documentation
  • Clear communication skills to turn complex optics into simple, teachable procedures
