This role will lead cross-functional teams across peer review, content writing, and video production to ensure delivery of high-quality scientific publications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the manuscript publication process for the JoVE Journal, ensuring efficiency and timeliness.
  • Oversee the complete manuscript workflow from peer review to publication, maintaining quality and adherence to journal standards.
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase throughput and reduce publication timelines.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies such as AI to optimize workflows and enhance productivity.
  • Define team goals and performance metrics, ensuring accountability.

Requirements

  • A Master's or Ph.D. in life sciences with 10+ years of experience in academic, scientific publishing or edtech content production.
  • 7+ years of proven management experience with strong understanding of peer review, open access trends, and evolving scientific publishing models.
  • Demonstrated expertise in digital publishing technologies, Content Management System (CMS), and workflow automation tools.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong communication skills with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
