Job Title: Shift Engineer

This position entails ensuring technical services are operational during shift duty, overseeing the management of entire technical assets in the building, and coordinating with the engineering team.

The key deliverables will be to:

  • Manage and maintain electromechanical/ utilities services at the site in collaboration with the technician team.
  • Develop and implement planned preventive maintenance (PPM) strategies.
  • Conduct regular inspections at the site to identify risk/defect areas.
  • Review the work of subordinate staff and provide guidance when needed.
  • Ensure documentation, tracking, and follow-up of assets under defect liability period and AMC/CAMC in a centralized tracker.
  • Hire, train, and develop shift engineers and maintenance staff.
  • Formulate effective budgeting controls and monitor SLAs & KPIs for efficient service delivery.
  • Maintain service level agreements and ensure performance indicator scores exceed excellence.
  • Ensure timely renewal of agreements, submission of invoices, and follow-ups for payments.
  • Oversee all vendor quotations and invoices.
  • Ensure proper sign-offs for attendance and required details for cost sheet submissions.
  • Submit client-approved cost sheets to the office and follow up for invoices.
  • Schedule monthly vendor meetings to discuss daily matters and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Plan and implement energy conservation initiatives.
  • Prepare monthly reading sheets with occupants and ensure all check-sheets and logbooks are filled properly as per schedule.
  • Maintain accurate history cards for all equipment.
  • Address major complaints and escalate to senior management and coordinate with technical staff if necessary.
  • Ensure work permits are in place and safe working practices/procedures are followed.
  • Assist in conducting risk assessments of building operations and work towards mitigating inherent risks and root cause analysis in case of system failure and breakdowns.
  • Create corrective, preventive, and emergency response action plans.
  • Participate in evacuation drills and be part of the ERT/QRT team.
  • Maintain accurate engineering and other reports like DMR and MMR.
  • Work closely with regional RO/HO/SME/Training teams and ensure closures of all required reports.
